Biography:

Martie Ross

Following a successful two-decade career as a healthcare transactional and regulatory attorney, Martie now serves as a trusted advisor to providers navigating the ever-expanding maze of healthcare regulations. Her deep and wide understanding of new payment and delivery systems and public payer initiatives is an invaluable resource for providers seeking to strategically position their organizations for the future. Martie identifies opportunities and develops realistic plans of action where others only see obstacles.

Martie synthesizes complex regulatory schemes and explains in straightforward and practical terms their impact on providers. She has made hundreds of presentations to professional and community organizations on a broad range of industry topics. Martie provides dynamic, customized educational and planning sessions for directors, executives, and managers, and employee compliance training programs.

Martie received a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas. She is an active member of the American Health Law Association, the Kansas Association of Hospital Attorneys, and the Greater Kansas City Society of Healthcare Attorneys.

Martie was chosen as a Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyer in 2008 and 2009. She was also chosen as one of the Best Lawyers in America from 2005 to 2011. She has previously worked as Staff Counsel for the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia as well as a Law Clerk for Hon. Deanell Tacha, US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Kathy Reep

Kathy Reep has more than three decades of leadership experience in the healthcare industry. Her hospital setting expertise is in compliance, financial advisory, reimbursement, and managed care. Kathy has helped with Medicare, Medicaid, workers’ compensation, reimbursement, and many other complex programs and issues. She is a thought leader and provider educator, helping hospitals navigate regulations and the impact of change.

Kathy served as Vice President of Financial Services with the Florida Hospital Association. She also held longtime hospital positions, as well as roles working in patients’ business, internal audit, systems management, diagnostic-related group management, and as a reimbursement director.

Kathy received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Central Florida and her Master of Business Administration, Healthcare Focus from Rollins College. She is the Co-Chair of the Outpatient Workshop of the Medicare Technical Advisory Group at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, a Board Member of the Florida Chapter of the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management, the Chairman of the Statue Uniform Billing Committee, a Board Member of Medical Malpractice Joint Underwriters Association, Board Member and Vice-Chair of AdventHealth Credit Union, and Adjunct Facility at Florida Advisor for University of St. Francis. She is a member of the American Health Law Association and serves as a Member Carrier Advisory Committee of First Coast Services Options – Blue Cross Blue Shield Florida.

Kathy is a recipient of the 2019 Bob Broadway Distinguished Service Award from the Florida Chapter of HFMA.
